I just find this so astonishing. We all carried pocketknives when we were in school. Nobody ever got stabbed.

The only time I remember another student offering real violence and not just stupid fisticuffs, that boy disappeared in the back seat of a police car and never returned to school.

Back when education was a privilege and not a right.

I don't remember ANY violence in school nor do I remember ever worrying about it....we didn't have violent students, period....of course that was Catholic grammer school and high school...

I think it was a RESPONSIBILITY and one dare not do as well as they could because we all wanted to please our parents, and afraid of our parents at the same time we loved them...
