Also... Second degree murder requires intentional murder.

Chauvin was not charged with intentional murder. He was charged with second-degree unintentional felony murder (unintended death resulting from the commission of a felonious assault).

I read the statute again.

I have always lived in states where Second Degree Murder is intentional, but not premeditated.

Usually, First Degree Manslaughter is unintentional but involves a separate criminal act.

I will guess that the felony in this case was Excessive Force?
