"Roundabout" is a song by the English progressive rock band Yes from their fourth studio album Fragile, released in November 1971. It was written by singer Jon Anderson and guitarist Steve Howe and produced by the band and Eddy Offord. The song originated when the band were on tour and travelled from Aberdeen to Glasgow, and went through many roundabouts on the way.

Well crafted almost commercial side of Yes. Many other great ones from this band including close to the edge and gates of delirium.
The album was Not Fragile.
Siberian Khatru is my favorite.
But one of my favorite Yes songs of all time is “Tempus Fugit” from Drama.
I like Drama a lot, I think it was Steve Howe’s best album, he took it to another level.
That was indeed a great album. One of my other favorites by Yes has to be “I’ve seen all good people”
That song introduced me to the sounds of a recorder, a certain type of flute. I enjoyed the lilting, weightless rhythms. Perhaps similar to music of the Middle Ages.
I saw them perhaps a year before Chris Squire died. Great show. Howe and Squire both still had it. They played Fragile and Close to the Edge straight thru, if memory serves.
Squire was an amazing Bassist, right up there with The Who’s Entwistle. Saw Yes at Anaheim Stadium circa 1978/79? impressive.
Losing Squire was devastating.
I liked Yes but hated this song
Over here! Your favorite band being discussed.
I was in High School and I listened to that song many many times, still like it today.
Holy Rickenbacker sloppy growly thunder! And the engineers didnt mess with it - try to pretty it up and lose that edge.
Bassist have a tough job - play repeated bars, play counter to the melody, and stay right there with the drummer.
How someone can do that AND sing? crazy. Like patting your head and rubbing your tummy.
Fun story...
When Nancy Wilson was required to audition & play a guitar solo to officially join Heart.
She chose to play the Yes song “Clap”.
She passed.
They like doing a few Led Zeppelin covers in their live shows, typically in the encore. I saw them maybe 3 years ago, Ann has still got the pipes, can really belt it out.
