A note of caution: My wife and I are not doctors or vets but my wife is a retired nurse practitioner and understands most medicines that we use here on the farm for our animals. She serves as our vet unless things get real complicated simply because they are expensive for large animals like our cows. Rural folks and farmers are much more inclined to do what works rather than to pay big bucks for the advice of big city doctors.
Do not use what I say here as gospel without getting your physician's advice. We are not dispensing medical advice here.
Never use medications intended for animals on yourself. Ivermectin preparations for animals are very different from those approved for humans. However, the Ivermectin for animals and humans is essentially the same chemically.
The difference lies mainly in the dosage amounts and the format for delivery, ie. shots, tablets, topical creams, etc.
Ivermectin for animals is usually in large dosages to treat large animals like our cows or horses. But we use it in small doses for treating our medium sized dog for heart worms. We wife makes up the dosage herself for the dog based on his weight.
Our three year old granddaughter has taken Ivermectin in capsule form to treat head lice that was going around her day care school. But we got that dosage and format with a prescription from a pediatrician.
The danger to humans from taking animal Ivermectin, which you can buy on Amazon, is the toxicity from taking doses that are meant for large animals and are too large for humans. You can cut down of the size and frequency of the doses based on your weight.
The drug is not approved for covid but it is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines. It came into use as a medicine in 1981. The World Health Organization's own data shows use of Ivermectin could have reduced COVID mortality by 81%, but they still won't endorse it and are instead now recommending vaccinations.
Follow the money there. Ivermectin is an extremely cheap drug but someone is going to make millions from the vaccines. I'm just saying.
My wife and I aren't getting the experimental vaccinations but will probably take Ivermectin in small doses if we were to get the disease itself. Both have side effects, but at least the potential side effects of Ivermectin are known.
I hope this helps.
Thank-you. I understand the correct dosage based on weight and the problems some folks have had with Ivermectin because, ...math is hard.
