Unless he's going to/from his house, boat, business, gun range, or other place he has authorization to carry it, then yes. Which can be not good, if someone knows you keep it in your vehicle, or if someone break sinto your car it's a quick-n-easy stolen item. Buddy of mine had his pistol stolen from his center console when he left his car at work over the weekend one time.
