Morrissey has hit out at The Simpsons, after The Smiths were sent up in the show’s latest episode.
The episode, titled Panic On The Streets of Springfield, aired last night (April 19), and saw Lisa getting a new imaginary friend – a depressed indie singer from 1980s Britain.

While the show stopped short of getting Morrissey onboard to voice the character, they instead enlisted the services of Benedict Cumberbatch to voice him, alongside a series of 80s-inspired songs written by Flight Of The Conchords Bret McKenzie.

Hours after the episode aired, a statement on Morrissey’s Facebook page said the show had taken a “turn for the worst” in recent years.
“Surprising what a “turn for the worst“ the writing for The Simpson’s tv show has taken in recent years,” the statement said.

Big Mouth Strikes Again?
Morrisey is murder...
I would agree with that but not for the same reasons, I'm sure.
Post of the day.
Morrissey is king of the “moaning homo” genre.
I can’t think of a greater honor for an aging and well-past-his-prime pop star than being skewered on the Simpson.
"“I have been following a new party called For Britain which is led by Anne Marie Waters,” said Morrissey. “It is the first time in my life that I will vote for a political party. Finally I have hope. I find the Tory-Labour-Tory-Labour constant switching to be pointless.“For Britain has received no media support and have even been dismissed with the usual childish ‘racist’ accusation. I don’t think the word ‘racist’ has any meaning any more, other than to say “you don’t agree with me, so you’re a racist.” People can be utterly, utterly stupid.”
Calling for more free speech in the political realm, Morrissey continued: “Anne Marie Waters seeks open discussion about all aspects of modern Britain, whereas other parties will not allow diverse opinion. She is like a humane version of Thatcher … if such a concept could be. She is absolute leadership, she doesn’t read from a script, she believes in British heritage, freedom of speech, and she wants everyone in the UK to live under the same law.
“I find this compelling, now, because it’s very obvious that Labour or the Tories do not believe in free speech… I mean, look at the shocking treatment of Tommy Robinson… ”
He’s a mixed bag to be sure.
I stand with Morrisey. I’m a big fan.
"Labour is hopelessly naive.Theresa May’s policies have turned Britain into a international target.
The BBC has closed down.
The Loony Left is concerned only with victim culture.
For Britain will keep British society together. Violence is not the way forward.
There are many problems in modern Britain that have become too large for Theresa May to deal with - mostly because she created them in the first place. The press appear to deal only in fashionable outrage; inflammatory and unjust comments against any new party that threatens the same old bloody pointless two-party system.
Please give For Britain a chance. They will bring an end to the modern Westminster mania for self-destruction. For Britain is the bulldog breed that will never surrender. Both Labour and Conservatives have already sold you down the river into righteous oblivion."
Simpsons hasn’t been good since The Simpsons Movie came out (which was great, by the way, really skewered the EPA)
This charming man got took for a ride.
I see what you did there:)
And heaven knows he’s miserable now.
He thinks SNL is a great show.
That negates everything else he has to say.
How gay....
