Mosquito meet chicken wire.
I worked in the environmental industry for over 25 years. One of my jobs was OSHA and EPA training. As part of those training sessions I’ve fit tested thousands of students. I’m can tell you from my experience with respiratory protection that cloth masks, even the vaunted N95, will not protect you from a virus. In addition for any mask to work it has to be fit tested and worn properly. Neither is being done. No one with facial hair can wear a mask effectively unless it is pressurized. And if the mask does not seal tightly around the face they are worthless. This guy’s right. It’s all virtue signaling.
“It’s all virtue signaling.” You’re absolutely right. Even sillier are people who wear those plastic shields over their face that make them look like they’re in a welding class. And the idiots who’ve installed plastic partitions in grocery stores and at public service desks, e.g., in the post office and the library? What about the air swirling above, around, and underneath those things? They’re not blocking anything. It’s laughable and a total fraud intended to hoodwink workers into thinking they’re safe. Plus, it’s the employer’s effort to comply with the CDC’s worthless rules.
So, what’s the point in any of this? The better idea is to get people vaccinated and tell them to boost their immune system in the standard ways—plenty of sleep, good nutrition, sunlight, and exercise.
Your experience is at odds with n95 data.
