I was a Democrat for about 5 minutes in my life. Straight out of military service, I didn’t know any better and registered Democrat and joined a liberal Democrat Club in NYC. I attended their first meeting, and it was nothing but a one hour gripe session griping about Vietnam, despoiling the environment, the white racist world, anyone not a Dem, etc. Imagine a tea party with a bunch of Karens. lol Really dark. If I wasn’t depressed before I went in. I was definitely depressed after I left. Next day I registered Republican and joined a Republican Club. Much better experience. They actually talked about solutions and. best of all, open bar thereafter.
