The Justice Department said Friday that a Nazi sympathizer who stormed the US Capitol on January 6 poses a threat to Jewish residents in his native New Jersey and therefore shouldn't be released from jail. I'm quite willing to listen to any FReepers here who can disabuse my of the notion that this represents a form of Schutzhaft like that prevalent in Germany between 1933 and 1945.

“Posing a threat” is rather vague and must be specific and immediate to oppose a pretrial release.
