As with flour, corn starch is an easy way to thicken-up gravies and soups.

It works better than talcum powder.

If my memory serves me and it may not, my mom used to put moistened corn starch on bee/wasp stings.

Finally a use for corn starch.

I use corn starch to help thicken my sauces (or gravy). It is smoother than flour and doesn't end up making little dumplings in my sauce. It just thickens the liquid which is all I ask of it.
