Sorry to hear about your infection.

Some of the newer drugs that President Trump got are making a big difference re outpatient treatment in this area or getting them out of the hospital to be treated.

Hope that you continue to improve. It is a slow process.

Dave

Maybe they just understand the difference between a public-health decision and a personal-health decision—and most important, what happens when you have to make both at the same time.

We had the choice, as a nation, to wait the usual three to five years, watching people suffer and die, or go ahead with a vaccine that was not tested the usual amount of time and suffer whatever consequences there were.

I think our public-health officials made the right decision. It’s hard to prove, because we don’t have the other result to look at. Thank God.

I have no problem with having a vaccine as an option.

I have a big problem with the propaganda campaign and arm-twisting.

In public-health terms, going the slow scenic route was never really an option. And it is still not an option, according to some experts, who believe that there is no way we can come to a partial, seesaw approach to this epidemic.

They believe we must stop it. Stop it dead, like the other diseases that we have conquered with vaccines. We can’t do that with the constant seesaw between the slowing and the speeding-up, which are caused by vaccines on the one hand and too much relaxing of regulations/suggestions on the other.

Because of the variants.

We have waited too long to get tough and so now we have to get even tougher.

It’s an opinion held by much smarter people than me, and I do believe they are correct.

What you call the propaganda and arm-twisting is a negative way of expressing their deep professional and human concern for the nation.

I call Medical Fascism and Fanaticism, way beyond appropriate for the actual public health threat.

Human liberty is critical--we are _not_ farm animals and should not be treated as such.

I think what I said about people who push for the vaccine and other methods of controlling and preferably ending the virus is true.

I agree with you about human liberties. But even public officials have free speech.

Both love of freedom and desire to help your fellow Americans can be true at the same time. There is no conflict between the two.

‘Just the 72 hour reaction to both Moderna vaccines felt like an E ticket ride.’

interesting; I had an adverse reaction to the first Moderna shot the day after; fever, fatigue, aching joints lasting about 12 hours...not looking forward to the damn second shot at all...

‘We have waited too long to get tough and so now we have to get even tougher.’

so you want us to be placed under even stricter sanctions...? is that what you mean by being tougher...?

You need to read your own posts very carefully.

They sound a lot like the 1930s “good Germans” explaining that the country really needs “breathing space” and the guy with the moustache really cares about the people and has the country’s best interests at heart.

Evil people do not self-identify with signs on their shirt—”I am evil”.

We need to make that identification.

So now I’m a Nazi. I wondered when the name-calling would start.

Actually I am not accusing you of being a Nazi.

What I am accusing you of—is not paying attention....

That is what most Germans were guilty of in the 1930s.

We disagree on whether the advice from Trump and our health officials is good advice.

And now we also disagree on whether I pay close enough attention.

Maybe we can just agree to disagree on these two things.

Advice is when someone offers suggestions.

The massive 24/7 propaganda campaign is not “advice”.

That is exactly what I mean by “not paying attention”.

The only laws on masks in my neighborhood are those set
by the privately owned businesses and clubs.

There are no laws on vaccines.

There is plenty of advice on both sides. Take your pick. Call the advice you don’t agree with “propaganda” if you like.
