Johnson & Johnson's Scientists Refute Idea That COVID-19 Vaccine’s Design Linked to Blood Clots

SOME DETAILS ON THE J&J SCIENTISTS EXPLANATIONS:

In the correspondence on Friday, Macaya Douoguih, a scientist with J&J’s Janssen vaccines division, and colleagues pointed out that the vectors used in its vaccine and the AstraZeneca shot are “substantially different” and that those differences could lead to “quite different biological effects.”

Specifically, they noted that the J&J vaccine uses a human adenovirus while the AstraZeneca vaccine uses a chimpanzee adenovirus. The vectors are also from different virologic families or species, and use different cell receptors to enter cells.

The J&J shot also includes mutations to stabilize the so-called spike protein portion of the coronavirus that the vaccine uses to produce an immune response, while the AstraZeneca vaccine does not.

“The vectors are very different,” said Dr. Dan Barouch of the Center for Virology and Vaccine Research at Harvard’s Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center in Boston, who helped design the J&J vaccine.

“The implications of issues with one vector for the other one are not clear at this point,” he said in an interview earlier this week.

The J&J scientists said in the letter there was not enough evidence to say their vaccine caused the blood clots and they continue to work with health authorities to assess the data.

There is about a one in a million chance of one of these CVST blood clots striking after a J&J vaccination.

That is about the same as after the AZ vaccine. Or the Moderna vaccine. Or the Pfizer vaccine.

The chance of getting one of those blood clots after any of the vaccines, is actually less than the average for unvaccinated people. The vaccines have been given disproportionally to older people.

CVST blood clots with low platelet counts are mostly among women of child bearing age. They are a known side effect of estrogen-based birth control, but some older women get them from Estrogen Hormone Replacement Therapy.

I have the J&J vax. Got it over a month ago. If people don’t want to take it, fine, but I’m with the legit POTUS in Florida that it’s criminal to sideline it when 7 women out of 7 MILLION got blood clots. There’s a higher rate of blood clots in women from certain types of birth control.

Quit minimizing the threat simply because you got the shot and think everyone else should too. There is somewhere between 3,000 and 10,000 who have died from the vaccine but your precious CDC is hiding the number.

Out of 34,000,000 likely some 400,000 people will die this year. Say 100,000 of those were vaccinated this year. Do you conclude that the vaccine caused the death of those 100,000 people, or that the vaccine causes heart attacks, cancer, etc.

I am not defending vaccines, but I am faulting really piss poor science invoked to try to favor the product of certain companies over other companies. It's politics, not science.

One might hypothesize that COVID vaccines cause dementia and narcissism in politicians. I won't mount a refutation.
