I don’t think that accounts for 479,050 excess deaths in 2020 though and I do think the healthcare system is, at the very least, back to its pre-Covid baseline level of shiftiness or at least almost. I see the surgeons have gotten caught up on their backlogged cases at my facility for example and my pcp has me getting labs drawn and going in for a colonoscopy in June (what fun).
I see that millions of Americans’ lives are turning for the worst in the past year. But whatever.
Most elective surgery was restarted last October. I had one on November 5th, and it’s been busy ever since. (My wife works for a hospital and I listen to their daily “bed call” every morning with my coffee.)
