Long-term effects are still unknown for both covid and the vaccines.

However:
Vaccines have 3,000 deaths in over 100 million doses = 0.003%
Covid has 580,000 deaths in 32 million cases = 1.8%

Clearly in the short run the vaccines are safer.

Only 6% of Covid deaths had no other comorbidity per CDC statements last year. I have not heard of them walking that back.
