The galling thing is they try and act as if they’re sincerely working with reason.

Unfortunately, a small but vocal group on the right, in particular the Libertarian right have a real issue with authority and hence an ingrained animus to police in general.
The only rush to judgement comments I personally saw on a few threads were those who stated the suspect had a gun in his hand at the time he was shot, which was not the case.

They should be glad we’re not Brazil (yet) where the cops pick up the 13-year-old black kid and execute him in the woods instead of taking him to jail for rape or whatever crime he did.
