Regarding the triangle shape:

1. How many blades are there on the aperture ring of the lens used to shoot the video?

2. How does that lens/video system record other bright, distant, out-of-focus objects?

The cameras and equipment used are those in the inventory of the SNOOPIE team which is the Ship’s Nautical or Otherwise Photographic and Interpretive Examination (SNOOPIE) team.
