Whitley Strieber, the guy who wrote Communion, has become friendly with these "visitors" over the years and, according to him, what these visitors want is to share our experience of living on this planet by basically taking up co-residence inside our minds and bodies right beside us.
Sounds a lot like demonic possession to me.
I'm sure there are tons of benefits to such a sharing arrangement.;-)
