I remember my first trip to Alabama. I went to a barbeque place and ordered brisket. The man said they didn’t serve sliced brisket. I then asked if they had any chopped like for barbeque on a bun.
When he said they only had pork, I must’ve looked like I had fallen into bizarro world.

“Are you from Texas?”, he enquired.
I shook my head in the affirmative. He then explained that in Alabama barbeque was pork, and pulled pork to Alabamans was like brisket on a bun, chopped or sliced to Texans.
