Ask the counter help or waitstaff if they serve Coca Cola, if they answer yes, order ice water.
Sugar water tastes quite similar in my opinion.
For it to truly make a difference, turn around and walk out if they do, do not buy anything at all from them. Go somewhere else or live without it. Very few have the will power and resolve to sacrifice a luxury even one time to make a serious difference.
