Believing clearly un-natural things flying in formation are mystical creatures is akin to calling them dragons.
I think the disclosure, if it comes, is going to confuse a lot of religious ideals. You might want to get your head ready for that possibility.
I think you are correct about us all getting our heads on straight for what disclosure may bring.
I have a vivid imagination so I am somewhat prepared for what may come, but it may be more shocking than even I can imagine.

It is not unlikely. That is the CIA/etc. bragging and taunting them. They are not exposing how they are made/the technology included by flying them by our military, etc.
The coast off California is bubbling with under water oil and gas fields. The gas pockets can rise to the surface and rise into the air. That is my guess as to what they are. Think of balloons of gas without the balloon enclosure.
You are saying that the CIA flew its own "secret weapons systems" (aircraft) by a U.S. Navy destroyer squadron during military exercises (in this case, Destroyer Squadron 23 which includes USS Kidd with the Aegis Combat System, our most advanced system) for the purposes of "bragging and taunting" them?
Were they able to get a weapons lock on these things?
Was the Phalanx ready to blow them out of the sky then investigate the wreckage later?
The US Navy just allows this to happen?

Yes. As you see the military did not destroy it just as was known they would not. It was an observe and report only by the military. Though the military does not know what capabilities those things have just by them flying by/being seen by the military.

Earth is pretty old. Stories of flying machines have been around for many thousands of years. I think they are old tech, discovered by people who understood how to reverse engineer them.
Earth, as a planet, is far out of the way in therms of the galaxy. I doubt there are many “aliens” who would bother to come here. It’s very far away from anything,
My belief in intelligent design holds fast. You can believe whatever you want. If you think craft that appear controlled by some intelligence are imps sent to mislead us...have a ball. On the scale of thinking, to me, that line of thinking is next to magic. And as the man said, advanced technology would appear as magic to us.
God has stationed a / the Restrainer preventing the 'all signs and lying wonders' of the satanic from taking control of this human race planet.
There is coming a time when that Restrainer will be removed and the entire spectrum of signs and lying wonders will be open to deceive the earth-dwellers.
The objects being seen are able to come into and leave our spacetime coordinate system ... they exist in hyperspace and have the technology to leave and return to their spacetime coordinate system.
Any student of the Bible can find Daniel chapter five to show you that this 'other' coordinate system exists. Jesus left the rock hewn tomb without rolling away the stone blocking the entrance. He came from and returned to a different spacetime coordinate system than we are presently fashioned to sense.
