Former Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid — the son of head coach Andy Reid — has been charged with DWI in a Missouri car crash that left a 5-year-old girl with a brain injury, according to a report.

Britt Reid was charged Monday in Jackson County in the Feb. 4 crash involving Ariel Young, who was seriously hurt when authorities say Reid hit a Chevrolet Traverse driven by the girl’s mother near the Chiefs practice field in Kansas City, KSHB reported.

Court records show that Reid, 35, had a blood alcohol content of .113 after the crash, Jackson County prosecutors said. He was also traveling at a speed of nearly 84 mph just seconds before slamming into two vehicles, hitting Young in one of them, prosecutors said.

Some time in jail, and poverty might encourage other folks to watch what they drink.

Most pot is smoked at homes. There is a lot less “party smoking” than party drinking.

I think both those statements are probably true. And/But, I suspect most beer/wine/liquor also happens to be consumed in the home and this survey tends to support that conclusion...

Overall, more than half (55%) of American consumers prefer drinking at home. In fact, it seems the at-home drinking trend is catching on as on-premise alcohol drinkers are more likely to say they are drinking alcoholic beverages away from home less often (18%) in 2018 than they did a year ago, than to say they are drinking away from home more often (15%), with Younger Millennials most likely to agree (29% drinking away from home less vs 17% more). In addition to being perceived as more relaxing (74%), cheaper (69%) and personal (35%), nearly two in five (38%) in-home drinkers are choosing to drink at home in order to better control their alcohol intake.

And yet, we still have robust drinking and driving numbers. Even if less marijuana is consumed outside the home than booze generally is, I think an increase in marijuana smoking will still result in some appreciable increase in driving while stoned.

“At what cost? One son died of a drug overdose and the other is this useless scumbag.”

The parents aren’t always to blame. Sometimes kids from the beat families turn out bad. Then some kids from terrible families turn out great.
Kids start making their own choices in their teens. If a kid wants to do something They know their parents wouldn’t approve of...the kid finds a way. No matter how involved the parents are.
I’ve seen it happen without rhyme or reason.

It will. No doubt. The stats still show the accidents don’t usually involve as much speed or personal injury.

But yeah, no one should be driving under the influence of anything.

That’s for sure. Brady has high expectations for himself, perfection actually although it can never be achieved. Have you ever wondered why it is that some mediocre dude who’s been cut by some loser team and gets picked up by the Pats and plays like an All Pro? Some of its Belichick and some of its Brady. But either way, players don’t want to fail when playing for them. Demand high expectations and get high expectations.

“One could argue he is a better Coach than Parent. He had 2 children become hardcore drug abusers while he coached in Philly.”

Too busy with his 80 hour a week job to bother with parenting. Very common.
