I think one should make sure your vitamin D level in blood is WNL.

Vit D3 seems to be an important factor in all this...from what I’ve read ... and heard on Doctor Radio

yes. and be sure you’re taking the right form of magnesium (glycinate or malate, generally speaking) as you need sufficient amounts of mag for D to absorb. Same applies to calcium absorption.
