Ways That People Can Help in Burma Now

8 April, 2021

Dear friends and family,

Thank you for praying for the people here and being with us in this. Even in the midst of killing and displacement here in Burma we feel and see God’s love, and appreciate so much your help. Although many people in the cities have been captured and tortured, and hundreds killed, they have not given up and continue to stand for freedom. The ethnic people in the mountains, although chased from their homes, also refuse to give up and continue loving and helping each other. Our teams and other groups move amongst the ethnic people giving medical and food support and being with them in love. The Burma military is more powerful than anyone here but we believe God is more powerful and is giving us ways to help.

Now we are focused on three primary ways to help:

1) Relief for the displaced. We are providing immediate food, medical and shelter relief to ethnic people who are under attack and hiding in the mountains.

2) Support for people who have left the cities and want to be trained to go back and help their people. We help provide food, shelter and medical and communication training so they can go back and help their people stand for freedom and survive. We tell them the most important thing we have learned is to love God, love each other and not give up. We share about how Jesus has helped us not to take revenge but to act in love and keep going.

3) Support for escape. We are also helping people who are targeted for death by the regime and whose only choice is to escape.

As the rest of this update relates, there are 20,000+ Karen in flight already within Burma that FBR is caring for. Not only is there the brutal military junta terrorizing and killing people on a large scale, a series of fires have devastated several refugee camps making tens of thousands of people homeless; the fires are suspected to have been deliberately set to further oppress the refugees. The Rohingya were never a significant problem. There was an attempt by ISIS to form a chapter, but running the entire population out of the country for that is like deporting the entire state of Oregon for the goings-on by Antifa in Portland.

If you read the link I posted at the end and see the pictures, you’ll see some of the suffering of the innocents among the Rohingya.

“With which Soros operation are you associated?”

None whatsoever. How much is he paying you? Please stop trivializing the suffering and injustices of millions of people with nonstop references to a character who has nothing to do with the situation there.

I’m the ops manager for another Christian ministry that sponsors about a dozen children’s homes in and around Burma, among other things. I’m also a bit of a philanthropist and am personally supporting supporting relief work at FBR and with several Christian missionaries who are in the thick of things on the west (India) and east (Thailand) borders.

Myanmar is only about 6% Christian. Do you see anything in the OP or anything else I’ve posted that would limit my concern about Myanmar to only that 6%?

Certainly I’m concerned for Christians facing persecution. But the ministry I’m in does a lot of humanitarian work and support in areas with few Christians. It’s our way of showing the love of Christ to those who are in need.
