The more I see of these vaccination-related arguments, the more I become convinced that there’s something deeply genetic at work here. In some people (how many?...I’ve not a clue...) the instinctive perception of risk is so powerful that it obliterates any objective assessment of risk. Even in individuals who are in other respects rational and reasonable.
If you don’t share this genetic quirk, it’s hard not to be exasperated when you encounter those who do. It’s clear that attempts to reason it away are a waste of time.
So what do you do? I’ve not a clue about that, either.
