famotidine is not a proton-pump blocker but works indirectly to reduce stomach acid production.

"Proton-pumps" are also super important for host defense cells such as macrophages and also osteocytes. I've always wondered what impact PPIs had on reducing the potency of macrophages to destroy bad things and osteocytes to dissolve bone.

My husband is an esophageal cancer
Survivor and has to take ppi’s for the rest of his life. He only started taking more vitamin d at my urging. .
