A fifth Indiana Jones movie, why? Because that fourth one was so good?

The rule in Hollywood is to produce remakes until the franchise is dead.
On the surface, from a business standpoint, I can understand a production company's desire to make money. So if the fan base will respond, why not make a sequel, then a third, fourth, etc. until the fans stop coming and it is no-longer economically viable to make any more. How many Rambos were there? Fast 'n Furious? Terminator? Marvel whatevers? From a business standpoint, they are going to push these cash cows until they no longer produce milk. It is sad for people who are fans of the books or early movies. They become engaged with the characters, plot lines, settings, etc. But in general the big studios are not story tellers. They're in it for the money. If their story lines degenerate into silliness, so be it. As long as there are a few hundred million to be made along the way. They don't care if they ultimately alienate the fan base of that series.
