WHAM is in Rochester. Wegmans is grocery chain based there. The Turkey was private labeled for them by Plainville.

One neat thing about Wegmans is their “shoppers club”. Of course it is to improve sales and marketing, but if you use it, they have a record of everything you buy. If there is a recall and you bought it, they actually contact you directly. At least they have done to me in the past.

I went to graduate school in upstate New York in the late 80s/early 90s. There was Wegmans and there was everybody else. Wegmans was head and shoulders above the rest, IGA, etc., and their expansion has forced a lot of other supermarket chains to up their game. I don’t believe their retail employees are unionized, and if they donate to Democrats I’m sure much of it is unfortunately part of doing business, just as Trump did for decades.
