Shouldn’t have been a surprise. Fairly common knowledge that battery performance declines in cold weather. I have a friend who loves his Tesla but one day this last winter he charged it up and took a long drive including a mountain pass. Battery charge levels start dropping rapidly and he found himself driving up the hill so slowly that the car actually started slipping backwards every couple of feet.

I am confused why an electric vehicle needs a 12 volt battery to start.

All of the computer and lighting systems work off the 12 volt battery.
Why I don’t know. Probably more stable voltage

I’ve been told by a Ford tech there is a panel in the bumper that has connections to charge the 12 volt battery
No key or voltage needed

Does it affect the sound system that mimics a real car?
Oh, the travails of having an overgrown golf kart in the name of being politically correct..

Did once. Out of North Little Rock heading to LRAFB, 102 mph in second gear.

Why is a brand new cars 12v battery losing it’s charge simply by being parked while the main lithium ion battery is being charged? What systems could be running cold or no cold that requires the 12v battery when the car is parked and OFF.

Probably pesky people who know about it are using parked Mach-E’s to charge their phones.
