Ok so it wasn’t Iran behind it. It wasn’t Khadafy or Saddam either. We had to take it to SOMEBODY. We owed Iran a punch in the nose. Since 1979 Reagan took out ONE oil platform. That’s it. They hate us the most and we’ve done nothing to get them to fear us. It works out better that way when there’s billions of dollars for the taking in the process.
Taking out Saddam was the best thing we ever could have done for the Iranians.
Germany and Japan are now peaceful countries. What happened at Dresden and Hiroshima/Nagasaki just might have a lot to do with this long period of non-aggression as we ended the war with an exclamation point. We can argue if we missed out on a big opportunity post WW2 regarding Russia/China. 911 was 20 years ago-too late for corrections. It’s called striking while the iron is hot as well as being ‘on a roll’.
If Saddam took over Saudi oil fields fracking would have been developed sooner as long as the left didn’t have us investing the trillions in solar & wind.
We had the chance to take out Saddam in 2001. And it would have been Iraqi troops marching into Baghdad.
