A good amount of Carlin’s later work were rants about the decrease of basic common sense. If he were alive today, he would be ripping snowflakes to pieces.

I wish it were true, but I must say, his strongest vitriol was towards conservatives, especially religious ones, now I get attacking organized religion, especially TV preachers, they deserve to be mocked, but he genuinely came across at being angry at God (even though he claimed to be an atheist, why be angry at something you think doesn't exist?)

About atheists, your right about the anger. I heard one preacher describe it. Even if the atheist sounds rational in denying the existence of God, deep down inside he is shaking his fist toward heaven, yelling “No, God!”
Much like what Joseph Stalin did on his death bed just before he expired.

Towards the end George was just angry and mean. After his wife died, the process just accelerated. I love his earlier stuff. Edgy, but not mean spirited.
