Nice post.
Reminds me of how the nuns taught us how to deal with temptation.
Say out loud what the Lord said to Satan:
“Get thee behind me, Satan!”
I still say it from time to time, and then I say “I’m going to kick your tail right back into Hell”.
Followed by a prayer to the Holy Spirit for spiritual help and courage,
And a prayer to the Guardian Angels and St. Michael for protection.
It works for me!
I agree with your entire post but it was Our Lord to Blessed Peter (Matt. 16:22) not Satan...and this just moments after Peter made a declaration of faith that would have one assume he had the “Big Picture.”
