Police were called to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Southern California home nine times in as many months, it emerged Thursday — after the couple expressed security concerns during their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Since the couple moved into their Montecito home with 1-year-old Archie in July 2020, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office responded to calls listed as phone requests, alarm activations and property crimes, the Telegraph reported, citing data obtained under Freedom of Information laws.
Police were called to their mansion four times that month during the early morning hours after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved from Los Angeles, where they had lived temporarily after leaving Canada at the beginning of the pandemic.
One call was listed as a phone request while the others were labeled “alarm activations,” according to the news outlet.
An August request was listed as “Misc Priority Incident,” while there was another alarm in November.
At 4:13 p.m. on Christmas Eve, deputies were called after a man allegedly trespassed on the property, according to the data.
A 37-year-old man was booked into jail on a misdemeanor trespassing charge and later released, the sheriff’s office said.
On Dec. 26, police were called at 2:54 p.m., which was listed under “Property Crimes.”
The most recent call — listed as an alarm activation — was at 2:21 a.m. Feb. 16, according to the report.
Representatives for the Sussexes declined to comment to the Guardian and a spokesperson for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office declined to provide details about the calls.
During the sit-down with Oprah, Harry described the couple’s decision to leave Canada for the US.

We are not their security force. Harry can pay for his own security forces. Sorry that he fell for Meghan and married her. She is toxic and he could have done 1000 times better.

In California, she takes half of everything (and then he pays for the kids, which she would get to keep as hostages, cared for by hired help, while she pursues further self-aggrandizement).
When the time comes, he should secretly arrange for an intervention while on a family trip somewhere with British sovereignty, where the kids could be grabbed, and divorce could be settled under British law.
I think that he is 6th in the line of succession, and that is all that English law allows, which is the *real* reason their son is not a prince, etc.
However, when Charles ascends to the throne, if William does not have another child, then Archie will be sixth and entitled to all that Megan wants for him.

He is Harry or that bum from England, not a prince when here in the US.
I think he would officially be a prince unless he became a US citizen, but I agree that he is an insalubrious addition to the US. He seemed to have been getting his act sort of together until he married. What an unmitigated disaster....
I was in Montecito this last Friday. Drive thru there occasionally. One of the most beautiful areas I’ve ever been to. Not sure how many poor people there are that live there....as I’ve never seen one in that area. It is definitely richy rich.
Montecito is quite a ways from LA, and they have their own police force.
I don't think it's been a charm for her. From what I've seen of her, when she was up-and-around the public, she was not at all happy with him.
I don’t think she is an inherently happy person. I think she is shallow, and vain. Not of noble character.
She strikes me as a narcissist. Hollywood is a magnet for them. Such people care about how others make them look. They tend to swap people out like replacement parts, when they get the opportunity for something that makes them look better.

I hope wiser heads will take Harry aside while he is in the UK and propose just what you have suggested.
