Airline jobs are not what they used to be, Pilots don’t get paid jack anymore, and it takes a long time or Military Training to become Captain.
There is some truth to what you are saying, but my brother has been a Captain for a major airline for many years and he gets paid a lot of money. However, we live on an airport and of course it varies a bit from individual to individual... but their is no group of people that I know of who whine more about their situation and are bigger cheap skates than airline pilots. It is the butt of jokes all the time around here even among professional pilots. I think it has something to do with ten years or so of frugal living while they are building up their hours to get hired by a major airline. It has been this way for the entire 35 years or so that I have been involved in aviation.
