All except bull riding. All of the other events have something in common with ranching and horsemanship; some events more than others. Roping and cutting horse are the most ranch related imo. You AND the horse have to be good.

As my dad told me before I rode a bull in a rodeo (for my first and only time): “bull riding has nothing to do with horsemanship or ranching. It’s just gladiator stuff. And when a bull throws you, it’s not over,..... he will be coming for you, guaranteed!”

My bull ride was enough to convince me that I didn’t want to go through life maimed over something so vain. It would be different if I was risking life or limb to rescue someone.
