Yes, anchovies too salty for my taste. But sardines are a nutritional powerhouse. I've been having a tin of them every day for at least 20 years. Helps keep me very healthy.

My wife keeps trying to get me to try “new flavors” like in tomato paste or water or different oil. Just gimme the Moroccan in Olive Oil thank you very much. I’ll eat the skin and bones too but usually get the skinless and boneless. Trader Joe has some at a reasonable price, big in size but a little too dry compared to the Crown Prince.

I am a foody snob, and admit it. I love to cook. I read cook books for fun. I go to the best places I snoop out on Yelp. I spend too much on ingredients. That said, one of the best things I ever found, food related, was 20 years ago, when I was just starting to cook. I think it was in a Bon Appetite
mag and it looked just wierd enough to try. Good Jewish Rye, toasted, fancy sardines, Russian dressing, red onion, slivers of cabbage and some capers. I will never forget how good that was, and I am picky! I made that for a while and now can’t look at a sardine in the eye. Those spines gross me out now.
