The way the game was called had a big effect. The big guy #11 for Baylor was camping in the lane early for 4-5 seconds. Baylor also used moving screens. Baylor was just too big for the Zags. Gonzaga looked like they lost weight while playing away from home for 19 days. Baylor looked like they had never missed a meal.
With that said, Gonzaga didn’t have enough of a bench. They needed interior muscle at C and Forward, even if non-starters.
Good game Baylor, your 3 point gunner looked like a superstar.
Yep. They finally had to play a top-notch team.
Barely. Spokane is moving left.
I had the same reaction as you. We followed the Zags all season. It was a sad night.
Not at all. The best team won. Straight play with officiating not playing anything but a neutral role. Sic ‘em Bears!
This is the Baylor that we in the Big 12 had seen earlier this season. Baylor stumbled a bit after their three-week covid vacation losing to Kansas and Oklahoma State but appeared to have regained their earlier form in the NCAA tournament. Just too big, quick, and talented for Gonzaga.
