Hmm - Hankook Tires? (I thought it might mean “open Country” or something. I searched and found that Hankook means “Korean” - so Korean Tire Company).

I’m sure the Hankook there means Korean.

Korean has some sounds that we Westerners can’t hear or pronounce very well. Also some letters have multiple pronunciations.

Sometimes the “k” sound sounds like “k,” sometimes it sounds like “g.”

“p” can sound like “b” or “p.” Busan and Pusan. Sometimes “p” can also sound like “m,” and vice versa. A Korean word for “I’m sorry” is “miyannaeyo.” But I swear a lot of the time I hear “biyannaeyo.” Thank you is written “kamsahapnida,” but is pronounced “kamsahamnida.”

“r” can sound like “r” or “l” or a blend of the two letters, depending upon the word.

Sometimes “s” sounds like “t.”

Sometimes “ri” sounds almost like “wi.”

There are others.
