Sometimes the over-representation of blacks in TV ads reaches absurd proportions. It's not uncommon for most or all of the people in three or four consecutive ads to be black, and few ads don't have at least one. The pandering is getting embarrassing.

Also, women seem to be overrepresented. Often you see a mother, or two women, and their children in a large, upscale house, with not a man in sight.

Rather than burning down CNN, the NYT and the AP hq, we should be storming the gates of the advertising agencies.
