45 years after hearing Led Zeppelin’s Kashmir, I still have not seen it featured in the movies.
I’ve seen “been a long time since I rock & rolled” in a FReeping CADILLAC commercial. I’ve seen Immigrant’s Song used all over the place, like right here on FR as the Viking Kitties mascot song. And Stairway to Heaven is everywhere.
But the first song I figured would be adopted by the outside world has been ignored.
I gethca. I would have though Kashmir would be in dozens of movies-—HOWEVER, remember the band has to sign off on it.
In 2010 I tried to get rights to “Voodoo Child” by Hendrix for “Rockin’ the Wall” & they wouldn’t give them to me.
Try Fast Times at Ridgemont high. When asked for help to set the mood on a date, Rat is told to play side one of Led Zep IV. Next scene, Kashmir from Physical Graffiti is on e car radio. Classic blooper, and a bit of a surprise from a Cameron film.
Your post is worthy of an Alice in Chains Kashmir cover—live.
