Those are just estimates though. They claim excess death of 300K, some “presumed” to be Covid.
April (79K) and December (80K) were the highest totals (When are flu shots again)
Death rate was highest for those 85+ (the same as any other year)
Heart disease and cancer still topped the list. This makes zero sense as Covid should top the list.
Just food for thought using the CDCs own figures.
Well it’s a huge page so you could not be expected to read all of it. But no, it’s not presumed. It’s not Covid at all.
Those graphs are of ALL CAUSES.
All causes deaths were way up last year. The All Causes count exceeded the officlal Covid count.
Some would say that’s suicides total because of lockdown. Folks will go out and get some semi official numbers on suicides, likely published from some psychiatric group trying to get money. But the truth is suicide stats trail a couple of years. No one has any solid 2020 evidence of an increase in suicides.
Others would say the number of deaths from all causes exceeding the Covid number is a result of undercounting Covid deaths. There will be no data on this, either. The usual scenario is elderly who live alone, get sick with the virus, have read that most survive the virus, and try to tough it out at home. They die during a night. It is days before the smell brings an ambulance — which takes the old guy to the morgue. He is dead. He won’t be tested for Covid. A very common scenario with so many elderly singles now and that death was a Covid death that was not counted as such.
As for this flu vaccine stuff, there is no evidence that last year’s flu vaccine generated more deaths than flu vaccines of other years. What would be different about last year’s vs years before? And again, the surge in the Northeast when the virus first arrived in April is after flu season. Old folks get their shots in Sept/Oct. Not April.
You can safely put that theory to bed. There’s no indication at all it explains the April surge of Covid deaths.
