Same here. I rarely wear the mask. No problem socializing. My family has gotten together and everything has been pretty normal. My sister went in for gall bladder surgery last July. Surgery was called off because she supposedly tested positive. No symptoms. She had to report coworkers who were never tested but STILL declared covid positive! I had a meeting with my boss last November. Sat right next to him and we both wore a mask. He called in sick within a few days, as did another co-worker. Both recovered within a week and I never got sick, nor did the rest of our office (about 15 of us) My sister-in-law got sick, but she works in a nursing home. She and two of her three kids got sick. They recovered within a week. I don’t know, personally, many people other than those I mentioned who had it. I don’t personally know anybody who died from it. And, yes, the people I know, who actually DID get sick, wear the mask all the time.
One of my series other people who always wear a mask getting sick is the fact that that one single person properly wear said mask. I know people in the medical field who Get specific training on how to properly put on and takeoff a mask to avoid cross contamination, for lack of a better term.
I am going to bed 99% of the people wearing masks take them off after wearing them, stuff them in their pockets, toss them on their car seat, etc. Then without washing your hands have a snack while driving home, touch their phone and then put your phone up to their face etc. spreading any germs and bacteria right into their mouth or nose
I remember early on, I believe it was Dr. Fauci who said the biggest thing was to not touch your face, the mandated everyone wear masks which only increased face touching.
