Yep, repackaged Zima.
Along with Wine Coolers, Zima, and Pepsi Clear.
"No, I'm a big, strong hard seltzer kind of guy."
The article fails to mention the favorable tax status of malt liquors over distilled products. That’s why companies try over and over to push this stuff.
Is this a new thing now? Advertising on Free Republic?
I bought a case of zima a few years ago after they released it again
No, I've been doing it since 1997.
“hard seltzers gain their alcoholic kick via the fermentation of malted grains or, in most cases, *cane sugars*. “
Thought they were all malt beverages.
Sounds like the homemade https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/edworts-apfelwein-turning-wannabes-into-brewers.678613/
With added soda for the ‘spritz’.
Described as “A real panty-dropper”...
I’m comfortable enough in my manhood to admit enjoying a Zima back in the 90s while chillin’ to a little REM or Soundgarden. But no Boyz II Men. Ever.
Been on a rye kick recently.
I was told back in those days that Zima is Arabic for a person who has sex with 2 members of the same family e.g. 2 sisters or mother/daughter.
Probably slander put out by the beer companies.
A little song
A little dance
A little seltzer
Down your pants
The article is from February 2020. I wonder what the market has done in the past year?
These days, I think most of these companies just buy the 200 proof alcohol, add water, sugar, flavor; and carbonate and FD&C dyes if desired.
The American Drunkard recommended spritzers: cheap gallons 12% red, cheap liters of Lem/Lime diet.
I see that stuff everywhere. See people buying it everywhere. Was at the beach in summer of 2019 and though drinking is not legal on the beach, they just whistled when the sheriff’s drove nearby in the 4x4 vehicles and everyone grabbed a paper bag or stuck it under a blanket. One of the guys with us was a deputy so he pointed it all out.
They even had patrol boats with binocular wearing cops cruising the shoreline - not looking for swimmers in need of help or sharks or anything like that... they were scanning the beaches for people drinking so they could radio the patrol vehicles and issue tickets.
Liquor is quicker than spritzer.
My local bevmo has been sold out of diet ginger ale for weeks. Plenty of new whiskeys available though. Got some bottles of Jameson IPA cask aged, and Jameson beer barrel aged. Tasty stuff. Had to settle for diet 7-up though after they ran out diet ginger. Which was also nearly sold out. I guess not enough profit on a $2 liter of diet soda for them to care about inventory.
