My husband was a hippie from the 60s and we were both democrats until after 9/11. Were heartbroken when Bush won. Ugh, I know, no need to say anything, I’m embarrassed enough to admit it.
My parents never talked politics so I was easy pickings in college. I didn’t make that mistake with my kids and because I have a wonderful husband, I was at home with them until the youngest graduated high school. My daughter’s civics teacher said he had a real love/hate relationship with her because she always engaged with him during class but had the opposite opinion about everything. He was an Obama(spit)supporter.
