The new gas can nozzles are a PITA, but you can ‘fix’ them and have them work like normal again. There is a spring thingy inside that needs removed. I forget exactly, but we found a yewtoob video that teaches how to undo the stupid design.

Or do what I did. Get a battery powered transfer pump. Each hose is 10+ feet. Now I just buy five gallon cans with no spout. Open it up, stick in the hose, put the other hose in what I want to fill up and turn it on.

Super easy and it was less than $20.

thx about the gas cans...my husbands biggest complaints about the newer ones....now maybe there’s a way to fix them.
