There was a donut shop that had a corner building in our downtown; the front was all glass, and you could watch the donuts being made.
My husband would walk down on Saturday morning and bring back fresh donuts, rain, sleet, snow, didn’t matter. The donuts were that good! I can still remember their buttermilk cake donuts, they were wonderful.
The owners finally retired, and shut the business down. The whole town wept tears of sorrow.
