Isn’t HEB amazing?
We have friends who recently visited, from FL, and they said HEB puts Publix to shame.
I’ve never been to a Publix, so I have no idea.
Glad your trip to Texas was a good one. You came at the right time of year, weather-wise.
Sounds like you were maybe in Houston or San Antonio area?
Yes....our landscaping EVERYWHERE took a beating. Really wonderful to see so much now blooming, after what went through here.

As we speak, I got a card similar to this in my wallet, that I had to go all the way to Mississippi to get. Also got the t-shirt and HAD pics of me in front of the store. So you can see how serious I take my Piggly Wiggly.
I will hear no idle chit-chat about HEB, or Publix, or Safeway, or Vons, or even Costco.
The tropical plants were very dead - palm trees fronds didn’t survive the ice and snow and were all brown, but may come back as long as there’s some life in the trunk.
Up until HEB, Wegman’s was my grocer of choice for getting locked in for a month. I’ve been in a few Publix and none come close to either Wegman’s or HEB, and HEB outshines them all. We stayed about 30 minutes north of Houston. The Woodlands and the people were all fantastic and I would happily return. Maybe, one day, I’ll even live there.
