I’m wondering if the old people who are dying are the same people who get regular flu shots. I’ve only gotten one flu shot in my life. I later came down with the flu. It might have been COVID as it was about the time Trump shut down China.
I don’t think I had ever gotten the flu before that.
Are there statistics about how many flu shots the people who died of COVID had gotten?
That is a very good question.
Just saw an article this morning — flu shots were inversely correlated with severity of covid episode (were fairly protective).
That's an interesting question. I've gotten the flu shot for years. Between raising kids and teaching, I had lots of exposure and the inconvenience of a bout of flu was something I wanted to avoid. This fall and last I gave it a miss. I'm retired and my kids are grown. I had COVID in March of this year. It was milder than a typical cold, but longer and different. I wonder whether I would have been sicker had I taken my usual flu shot.
