Take an experimental vaccine, one rushed into production without the usual 3-10 year trial period? Take that same vaccine; one that’s never before been used on humans? Take that vaccine to prevent getting a disease with an overall survival rate of ~99.8 percent? Never. Because considering those facts, that would be a truly idiotic risk to take.
A 1% mortality rate when you consider that 70 million to 150 million U.S. residents would contract COVID-19 U.S. It would mean between 700,000 and 1.5 million dead – roughly the population of Washington, D.C., on the low end, or the entire population of Hawaii on the high end. We don’t want anyone to die, if we can help it.
