A few years back a group brought in black kids from the inner city to our local rural state park to spend a few days.
I was told a 6 foot black snake was sunning itself on a trail and the black kids were screaming and crying and going out of their minds in fear.
Only later did my wife tell me blacks are evolutionary mortified of snakes from Africa days
I’ve met white people who have an irrational fear of snakes. When I was a teenager, we kept snakes as pets, and a German classmate said she would never visit us because of the snakes, even though they were harmless gopher snakes.
