INDIANAPOLIS -- Ten days ago, UCLA went into halftime of its First Four game against Michigan State with an 11-point deficit. The Bruins had ended the regular season with four straight losses and backed into the NCAA tournament, and their trip to Indiana looked to be a short one.

Ten days later, UCLA is 40 minutes from the Final Four.

The Bruins, a No. 11 seed, continued their pseudo-Cinderella run on Sunday night, beating No. 2 seed Alabama in overtime 88-78. They become the second First Four team to advance to the Elite Eight -- and the first since VCU went to the Final Four in 2011. It also guaranteed the Pac-12 will have three teams participating in the Elite Eight for the first time since 2001.

The reason UCLA won was Bama was 11-25 from the FT line.

That's inexcusable. That's just bad coaching.

I'll bet you weren't happy when Andrew Nembhard transferred to Gonzaga, understandably so. Andrew becoming eligible shortly before the season started IMO put the Zags over the top.

He added another dimension to our backcourt, particularly when it comes to physicality from playing in the SEC for two years.

I was just worried Bama was going to try to steal our thunder by winning football and basketball the same year like we did.

Too bad Petrusev decided go turn pro and go play in Europe. With him, an NCAA Championship would be a no-brainer. He also would have been a top five pick in the NBA draft this year.

3 of the 4 remaining games have a PAC12 team playing. Only one team east if the Mississippi remains in tournament. PAC12 always underestimated.

No, wasn’t real happy about him transferring. TheUF hoops program is a bit of a dumpster fire right now. We need a new coach. 3 players transferring this year again so far. Good luck to the Zags.

Was concerned about that and Nana hoops becoming more established with the new coach. He way out coached Mike White this year.
